What is Beanstack?

Beanstack is a digital resource that helps readers track their reading and participate in reading challenges! It is easy to use, and is available  for your browser, and also as a mobile app through the Google Play store and the App store.

Beanstack does require a library card, but the good news is that PCPLS library cards are free to all who attend school or live in Porter County! You can sign up for a card at any of our branches during our usual operating hours.

How do I sign up?

To sign up for HallowRead, all you have to do is create a Beanstack account and sign in. Then, you will see the HallowRead Reading Challenge on your Beanstack homepage. To participate, you just click on the HallowRead challenge, and on the bottom right, select that you would like to participate.

Then, you can look through the Challenge to see what you need to do to complete it, and just mark your tasks as completed within the app as you finish them! Once you’ve completed everything required for the HallowRead Challenge, you’ll get a completion badge. Come into your branch, show us that badge, and you’re set to claim your prize!

What do I have to do to complete the challenge?

To complete the HallowRead reading challenge, you have to complete ten reading badges, and three activity badges! The ten reading badges (milestones) are all just leading up to reading 300 pages total for the month of October, and the three activity badges are just fun, simply, spooky activities that you can do to get in the Halloween spirit!
