Additional PCPLS Reading Programs:

1000 Books before Kindergarten

Ongoing

Enjoy reading 1,000 books with your little one! Log reading, earn badges and prizes all along the way.

Did you know that children who are read to are better prepared for school and continue to succeed throughout their academic career? It’s never too early to share the pleasure of reading!

Read any book to a newborn, infant, toddler, and/or preschooler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books before your child starts kindergarten. If you read just one book a night, you will have read about 1,095 books in three years! After certain goals are reached your child can come into the library and claim a prize.

You may log books you and your child read on Beanstack or you may use a paper log. We offer printable paper logs available at this link.

Now available on Beanstack: our Super Sibling program!

Do you have a young reader at home who wants to help a participant reach their 1000 Book goal? (This is a great way for more advanced siblings to practice their reading skills!)

Children who read at least 50 books aloud to sibling(s) enrolled in our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program will receive a special Super Sibling certificate, a Super Sibling button, and a library book bag.

Super Siblings may register and log books on Beanstack or may use a paper log. We offer printable paper logs available at this link. Once you reach 50 books, visit any PCPLS location to claim your prizes!
