Larry Clark was head of the Genealogy Department for 25 years at the Valparaiso Public Library. In that time, he built the department into one of the premier genealogical collections in the state and the mid-west. Larry was appointed both the State Genealogist and the State Historian for Porter County. While his sudden passing left a large void for all who knew him, his legacy will forever live on as the Library Board voted to name the department the “Larry J. Clark Genealogy Center” in his honor. The library plans to do everything possible to ensure that this collection remains one of the best in the area and a destination for those seeking to trace their family histories.
