Start Discovering Your Library

Indiana has a statewide catalog that you can use to request items from other libraries. If you don’t want to make a request yourself, we are happy to do it for you. Otherwise, to make your own request, follow these tips below:

Interlibrary Loans (ILL)

Not For New Items

If the item is less than a year old, don’t use the statewide catalog. Instead, ask us to consider adding it to our collection.

Use your barcode and pin to log in

You won’t be able to request items from the statewide catalog until you log in! Click the “Login” button in the top right, and select the Porter County Public Library System as your library. Login with your library card barcode and PIN.

Delivery time & pickup

Choose any of our branches as a pickup location when you request the item. Items may arrive within 1 week, but sometimes they take longer.

Overdue Fines Are $1/Day With No Renewals

Interlibrary Loans will not be renewed. You may have up to 10 active interlibrary loans at a time. Make sure you bring ILL materials back on time, fines are $1 per day!

Need Help?

If you have trouble or your item does not appear in the statewide catalog, there is still a good chance we can get it. We have additional tools available to us, so ask us to find it for you!
